Towards the Next Generation Wired/Wireless Networks
主讲人：Prof. Nei Kato（加藤内）（Tohoku University）
报告摘要：Next generation networks are considered as the aggregation of various types of networks such as wired, wireless, ad hoc & sensor, and satellite networks. While traditional researches on network congestion avoidance, environmentally friendly networks, mobility management, content delivery systems still attract a high level of interests, many new areas with rising attentions are emerging. Well-known examples are smart grid, body area networks, optimization of energy consumption in ad hoc & sensor network, hierarchical satellite networks and so on. In this talk, the most recent status of wired/wireless networks in Japan will be introduced along with the latest research trends in several promising new fields.
主讲人简介：Nei Kato received his M.S. and Ph.D. Degrees in information engineering from Tohoku University, Japan, in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He joined Computer Center of Tohoku University at 1991, and has been a full professor at the Graduate School of Information Sciences since 2003. He has been engaged in research on computer networking, wireless mobile communications, image processing and neural networks. He has published more than 200 papers in journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
